Northern Light Tour

Ørjan Hartveit joins forces with pianists Tarek al-Shubbak* and Daniela Candillari** in Northern Light - a recital series celebrating the genius of Edvard Grieg and his influence on contemporary and future generations of composers.

Grieg's unique combination of Romanticism and folklore, which has inspired composers of different nationalities, will be at the heart of the programme, while a specially commissioned installation by Norwegian art photographer Ingerid Jordal depicting the dramatic scenery in Hardanger - a major source of inspiration for Grieg, particularly when writing songs such as The Last Spring - will be featured simultaneously with the performance of the 12 Settings of A. O. Vinje Op. 33.
